An early 19th century pair of provincial sterling silver sugar tongs. The plain arms with shell bowls engraved with period initials.

Paisley, 1811

Maker: William Hannay length 15.5 cm 45 grams

Tongs are in good condition The tongs have the Edinburgh date for 1811 but the makers mark WH is in a serrated punch which Hannay used when he was located in Paisley.
